Hurricane Ike

I have been getting a lot of phone calls over the past couple days asking what we are doing. We are "hunkering down" here at the house. We are pretty much stocked up on everything we need to survive a number of days with no power. Although, I can't guarentee how long my pregnant butt can last without A/C. We are turning the air down looooow in an hour or so to cool the house off really well if we do lose power.

Anyway, we are just west of Houston. We are not in an area that floods easily. So don't worry about us getting washed out. We are more concerned about any wind damage, but it isn't like there is any way to prevent that. We do have the closet cleared out under the stairs in case we need an emergency location for tornados. Otherwise, it is just a matter of waiting.

Oh, and Daniel is hoping we end up qualifying for some sort of FEMA assistance like interest free loans or spending cards. LOL Fingers crossed!
