Well, after setting Ava's room all up and buying the furniture and gorgeous bedding, we couldn't bring ourselves to keep Madison in her same boring, blah room. We decided to take the money we had saved to purchase furniture for our study and redo her room as her birthday gift this year.
We had originally intended to buy a bedding collection from Bombay Kids that she had fallen in love with. However, they closed as I stated before. So, we were really unsure of what we were going to do in her room.
Madison's new obsession is the color blue, so I went on the hunt for a girly-blue bedding collection. I came upon Pottery Barn Teen (PBTeen as Madison insists we call it), and I saw this gorgeous bedding. All I have to say is, thank goodness I have a husband that is just as ridiculous with home decor as I am because we nearly broke the bank funding this project with all the extra first month bills we have had. We just couldn't pass up the chance to blow Madison away as we aim to do with every birthday gift.
I spent the latter half of last week getting her walls painted and room decorated. Her walls are painted in Dancing Green from Sherwin Williams and the ceiling in citrine. It is bold, but it makes the room just so vibrant and hip. Madison is in love with it. She says that it looks like a giant apple she could just sink her teeth into.
I still have plans to buy a comfy chair of some kind for her room. I also want to paint a large picture for her walls that copies the bubbles on her bed. All in all though, I think we pulled it off for putting it all together on the fly.
You've outdone yourself once again! Great job!
