Out with the old, in with the ...old?

So, I admit it. I am the nut parent that goes on and on about not having anymore babies after my last one, but then gets baby fever and decides to get pregnant one last time. So we say....

Of course in my haste, I started selling off many baby items I no longer had any use for since we would be baby free. I started this process in November of last year, and I was still selling off things when Daniel came home on that fateful night in February to announce that he wanted another baby. I sold off many of the pricier items like a swing, play mat, and most importantly infant carrier.

I had found the Peg Perego Prima Viaggio SIP infant carrier in Rose online while pregnant with Leila and fell in love with it. I had to have it. Luckily, I have a husband that is a sucker for expensive, cute pink car seats, too, because he gave me the instant go ahead to buy it. It also helped that I needed a specific size seat for my car so it would fit properly. The cheaper ones were entirely too long. Darn...

Nearly $300 later, it was mine. I loved this car seat so much, and I was really kicking myself for Craiglisting it. I mean, I only got $80 for it, and I was now looking at spending another $300 for a new one. I decided I would just look on Craigslist again to find someone else selling this seat. I did find a woman selling hers, and I emailed her. I explained that I would not be finding out the sex of the baby for 7 weeks, but I really wanted to buy the seat if this baby is a girl and it as still available. She emailed back to say that she wouldn't hold it for me (I didn't expect her to anyway), but I should email her back once I found out. So, I did just that. Lucky me, she still had it, and she was asking $80 just as I had sold mine for. Great, no money lost.

I immediately loaded the kiddos up to go get it from her yesterday afternoon. Thankfully, it was only a 15min drive and not across town. I pull up to the house, unload the kids, and head up to the house. When the seller answered the door, I quickly realized this is the same woman I sold my seat to in the first place. I was buying my seat back from this woman. I guess, she technically just borrowed it from me since I paid her what she paid me for it. Let me tell you how funny that was. I guess I am just thrilled to be reunited with my car seat.

  3. Ha! Remember when we put that old fridge that was converted to a kegerator out front of my house with an add on craigslist saying it was free, and it took over a week for someone to get it? Then a few months later Kenny found some cheap kegerator parts listed on craigslist, and went to buy them. Sitting in the garage of the guy's house was Kenny's old kegerator! They guy even gave Kenny a break on the price, since he had gotten a free fridge from us.
